What is an IP address?
An IP address is a device's given location/name on the internet. It helps servers detect where a request comes from, and where it can route something to. Like a street address where the post office would know to deliver mail.
How does it work?
It works by giving a device a specific address when connected to the internet. Then online servers and protocalls can determine where to route things to, they route them to your IP address.
